Pitch Prep
Helping you over the final hurdle
The ‘pitch’ is perhaps the highest form of a presentation. It is an opportunity to win more business, and more importantly secure new, long standing relationships with clients that could be mutually beneficial for years to come.
Companies often spend thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) on developing the ideas and work behind the pitch, therefore it is vitally important that the pitch itself is doing justice to the innovation, passion and hard work that’s gone on behind the scenes to win this piece of work.
Unfortunately, our experience (and maybe yours too?) is that pitches often fall short, and this can be for a multitude of reasons:
Lack of preparation
Lack of practise
Incoherent narrative
Too much information
Lack of storytelling
Basic presentation mistakes
This is where we come in, and we have an ace up our sleeve! Our founder, Simon, spent years on the other side of the table. In his time in procurement, he saw countless pitches from suppliers (many of them awful), and knows exactly what works and what doesn’t. He now brings that experience, along with his expertise in presenting and influencing, to help you and your people maximise the chances of their pitch being successful.
Simon will work with your pitch team to ensure they’re as prepared as possible come the big day. He normally comes in once a first draft of the pitch is prepared, however can come in and advise at an earlier stage if required.
The areas of focus are:
Narrative and flow
Often the individual elements are great, but just not in the perfect order.
Delivery skills
Nerves, lack of experience, lack of practise – one or all of these can massively effect the outcome of a pitch.
Message clarity
If it’s not clear the prospective clients are unlikely to go for it.
Level of detail
Let’s just say it’s rarely not enough!
Team dynamics
If there’s more than one person presenting, it’s vital they’re all on the same page and know their exact role at every step
We offer a number of solutions to suit the level of support your pitch team requires:
Creation
If the team want to set off on the right foot prior to the pitch being written, Simon can facilitate a session to ensure all the key elements will be covered.
Virtual Review
The team sends a recording of their pitch. Simon will then review it and based on the elements above will provide a detailed video commentary for the team to take action on prior to the actual pitch.
Live Review
Simon will watch (and record) your pitch team giving a live run-through of their pitch. They will then review the recording, with Simon giving advice and tips on how to fine tune or change it to maximise the chance of success.
Live Review Plus
As with the live review, with a follow-up session to review progress and suggest any final tweaks before the pitch itself.
The duration of the sessions will be dependent on the length of the pitch and how many people are in the pitch team. Please call us to discuss your requirements.
